LO2 - struggling to come up with an assignment for this - any help re how data must be processed etc would be gratefully appreciated!  Is a spreadsheet suitable?

Apologies for the late reply, wanted to wait until after moderation before i started giving too much advice!

P5

To begin with:

Print screen of the data before preparation (A few different sources identified elsewhere in the unit)

Print screen of the data after prep (Converted to excel tables so it can be procesed as big data)

Advanced formulaic functions

Students searched on the internet and evidenced different formula which helped them process the data. We used 2 or 3 different fairly advanced formula. With annotations and print screens to support.

Graphical information

Students then used graphs and charts to model the data which they then used later on in the unit when they were making decisions for the company. Just have to make sure the labels to meet the criteria.

.

Let me know if you've got any other questions. Is a tricky unit to evidence becayse of the topic, but very topical and relevant at the moment for up to date information.

Hi MrCPayne

THank you for your input.  One thinf I will say though is that you do not have to present lots of print screens (in many instances they are so small we cannot even read them).

The original data obtained can be saved with an appropriate files name and the moderator can view it electronically.  When the data is manipulated and the Excel spreadsheet saved accordingly, the moderator will also look at that electronically.

Just wanted to reiterate that it does not need to be "death by screenshot" as the moderator will ALWAYS look at electronical evidence as long as you makwe it available to them on one of your laptops, PCs etc.  The only thing we do not do (for obvious reasons), is insert USB drives into out own laptops.

Hope that helps.

Kindest regards

Mo

Hi, I was just starting to wonder this myself. My idea (whether it is right or not) is going to be to get students to analyse data from the office of national statistics in an excel document and run queries and create graphs and charts for a client brief based around some sort of leisure and tourism business.

Then later on in the unit get them to make recommendations on expansion and whether to hire new staff based on the data they have obtained from different sources.

Hi

Any chance I can have a look at what you did?

Hi MrCPayne

It looks like you have a good plan there.
