'Near miss' credit for exams Level 3 technicals

Does anyone know more information about OCR's decision about crediting students who 'near miss' an exam.

I have two students who did not pass Unit 4 (by 2 and 1 mark) and am anxious about their qualification as they leave this year and are in danger of not gaining their qualification without resitting.

Should I enter them for a retake?  Is there a policy in the pipeline??

BTec have already issued their update including points awarded for a near miss....

Any update OCR??

Hi,

The grade boundaries with the new Near-Pass Grade are now on the website: http://www.ocr.org.uk/administration/stage-4-results/grade-boundaries/

FAQs about the new grade can be found here: http://www.ocr.org.uk/administration/support-and-tools/siu/cambridge-technicals-near-pass-260418/

Hi Carol,

The revised Grade Boundaries including the new Near-Pass grade for all past series will be released later today along with some FAQs.

It will be then up to you/the students if you continue with the resit (to improve the grade) or not as the Near Pass will enable the students to still achieve the full qualification.

The new boundaries will be added at the link below and a notice put on the Cambridge Technicals page:
