Having difficulty reminding your students of the correct way to represent different bits of laboratory or circuit equipment in diagrams? We've put together this resource to help. It features common equipment used in the lab and in circuits on individual cards, showing their common appearance, the correct way of representing them in scientific diagrams, and their names.

We've arranged them so you can print them double-sided and the name of the equipment will be on the back of the correct card. You could use them in this format as flashcards. Alternatively, you could print them single-sided and use them in a matching exercise. We've also included some blank cards so you can add your own equipment if there's anything missing that you'd like to include.

Hopefully you'll find them useful – do let us know what you think!
