When did you start Unit C?
I would really appreciate if you could answer this question based on Maths A:
When did you start Unit C?
Our present Year 11 sat unit A in Jan Year 10 and Unit B in Nov Year 11. We started Unit C in mid November and there seems to be plenty of time to complete the foundation Unit C topics. However the same cannot be said of the higher Unit C topics, especially with the A/A* topics.
I would appreciate your comments.

Year 10 take unit A in November (top set) or January. Everyone takes unit B in June of year 10. We had a big resit session in November of year 11 (with a couple of weeks of revision time) and will do unit C in June year 11 for everyone. As you say, with good Foundation students, there seems to be plenty of time, but Higher are struggling to finish unit C. I've used the weighting of the units (25, 25, 50%) to guide how long to spend on each.
I'm looking to change specification for the current year 9.

I agree with first comment, Unit C at A/A* level is considerably longer than the foundation. We did Unit A in January of year 10, Unit B in November year 11; we felt June of year 10 to be too soon for 2nd module. We did use 5 weeks at the beginning of year 11 to do Unit C but are still struggling to complete.
Given the new directives on modular entry, it now seems three modules at the end of year 11 to be quite a bit too much. I am also considering changing specification to one with two final examinations. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Regards,
Donnie
