Hi,

Please can someone confirm whether or not the equation of a circle is no longer taught in J562, Specification A.

I can find no mention of it in the specification either in the graph section (HC8) nor in the algebra section. (HC7). There is no exemplar of a y^2 +x^2 = r^2 equation in the Examples column and it is not covered in the text book.

I would be grateful for confirmation please.

Thanks

Jo

The answer is - the equation of a circle is no longer in the specification for the Higher Tier. Thought you might like to know.

Hi jo,

We use a text bookGCSE maths for OCR spec A. In the higher text (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Oxford-GCSE-Maths-Higher-Practice/dp/0199139318)on page377 There is a lesson dedicated to the equation of a circle.
