In the assessment criteria is states that students should chnage some of the numeric data to model the expected outcome of at least 2 different scenarios. I would appreciate some clarification of this statement. Which of the following examples would be acceptable:
a) A spreadsheet calculating the cashflow for a business has an item of data changed so that the profit/loss moves from being in profit to loss. This would then result in two different versions (scenarios) of the same spreadsheet, one being in profit one in loss.
b) Again a cashflow spreadsheet has at least two items of data chnaged e.g. one of the income variables and one of cost variables. This would then give two versions of the spreadsheet showing different totals.
Any clarification would be much appreciated.
Model 2 different scenarios:
Make a single change to an item of data (eg VAT rate; quantity purchased; mark-up percentage etc) to model one possible scenario.
Make a different change to an item of data (see above) to model a second possible scenario.

Hi
I am trying to find a way to password protect as my school has installed windows 7 and office 10 and their seems to be no way of doing this ..
Can Anyone Help?
I think your first port of call should be your ICT department, or technical staff and ask the question; has the ability to password files been deliberately removed or is it a default setting that no-one actually thought about?
Thankfully I normally find that it is the latter and this is then quite easily resolved but if it cannot then there needs to be some provision to allow the criteria to be met, it is not enough to tell the moderator 'we can't do it at this school because of xyz' - the course criteria MUST be met otherwise students cannot pass.
Then again, can I ask what unit and Assessment Objective you are doing - I think the Unit 1 AO1 has been changed in the new (2010) specification so that you don't have to DO, you have to EXPLAIN with examples; in this sense if you cannot generate your own examples it might be okay to use examples found elsewhere.
Alternatively you might try compressing some files and adding a password to the zipped folder.

Legacy version - Unit 6:Has anyone got any exemplar material for this unit. I am about to teach it for the first time and I could do with some pointers.
I have created my own one page version with tick boxes - but think splitting them up will make it easier to mark and for students
I have mail merged them with student details, I did intend to print on coloured paper so it was easy to find sections in portfolios, but forgot. Not sure if I will mail merge again we have 330 students in a year.
Can I just add to Dave Fountains comment and say to also cross check the KUS against the grading sheets before finalising the mark sheet. I work in exactly the same way and have had the same wording issues with the moderator but there are also a few anomalies between the 2010 grading sheet and KUS (mostly regarding singulars and plurals). I always choose the option with the most evidence required, just in case.

Hi
these look very usefull - are they approved by OCR?
Thank you for sharing them.
No but they are exact copies of the grading criteria as given in the spec.
The first time I created sheets for the old spec I made the mistake of converting them in to 'pupil-speak' and this led to some quibbling during moderation so since then I made sure to take them verbatim from the spec. Where possible I match from Pass to Merit to Distinction so sometimes the sentences order is altered. I also look to put 'tick' points for any individual items that appear as lists within the spec. Having been a moderator in the past I always found the hardest job to be telling a centre that a Distinction level candidate was going to fail because they missed one element of the Pass criteria. So the normal health warning about using any resources applies - check them against the spec carefully yourself

Word versions of the AOs can be found here: http://www.irpens.co.uk/ocr2010.html
http://www.ocr.org.uk/qualifications/type/nationals/ict/l2/documents/index.html
This page has most of what you need I think - the handbook has the points scores for each version of the qualification.
ALWAYS use the assessment sheets to assess the work - and record the achievements.

Thank you very useful.
This is fab, big help. Thank you for taking the trouble to share it. Do you, by chance, know any centres who have ventured into the "control" unit?

Pretty impressive and a great time saver
Any chance you will be doing unit 23 the video unit?
I have added the Unit 23 criteria sheets to the set.
Hi
How come i can not access these sheets?
Not sure, what kind of error are you getting?
