We're wondering if it might be possible to do the whole of one course at the end of Year 10 and the whole of the other course at the end of Year 11.
Hi Jenufa,
This would be possible, however, I would bear in the mind that the skills of candidates in Year 10 may not have matured enough for them to achieve to their full potential by the end of Year 10.
You would also need to consider whether this would impact on league table results as candidates need to be entered for both Literature and English Language for the English Language grade to appear on the league table results. It may be worth checking the DFE website for more information on this.

The English Team

A couple of things:
- Firstly, is nothing going to be done with the Eng Lit qualification, perhaps looking into rebalancing the CA and exam split? Expecting students to be prepared for poetry, two novels and a play, together with the Eng Lang unit seems ridiculous.
- Secondly, are controlled assessment tasks published sufficiently in advance so students attempting them in year nine can still submit them at the end of year 11? I thought at present they were operating on a two year cycle.
